music analysis - we found love

The narrative of this music video is that these two individuals have fell in love but are getting nothing good out of it. As the video progresses they start to get tired of being with each other all the time. This is when the fights and the arguments take place.

Editing - In this upbeat music video, there are lots of cuts and different angles. All of the cuts and scene transformations go at the same time as the beat does. there are also many different places where the video is shot, such as the skate park, the diner, the slot machines, apartment, the car, outside the flats. there are also many scenes of her standing in front of the wall with other videos being projected onto her portraying which emotions she is going through.

Why we use Chroma key

Chroma keying is a technique used for layering two images together. A specific colour in the top layer is made transparent so that you can see the bits of the image behind the first one. This technique is mostly used in video-production and post-production. This is mainly used for weather forecasts broadcasts. In the forecasts it shows a news presenter standing in front of a large map with sometimes moving pictures e.g rain, snow, sunshine etc.
Green-screening and Blue screening are widely used in special effects in movies.

Clothing for our music video

BTEC media homework - Fat boy slim
Narrative
This music video is mainly about a guy that is listening to music and then decides to get up start dancing. He dances for the rest of the video and at the end he goes sits back down in the chair. its a fairly simple story line.

Treatment
The over all look of the video to me was who ever made it, made it so that the impossible was possible. It is rather strange to see a man of that age running around dancing and even flying, but it was kind of entertaining because i wanted to see what hes going to do next.
Connection to the song
The song and the video, if you think about it its trying to say break the sterio typical thought of what people expect you to be and express who you are in the inside. Its also saying to the guy, your still a ladies man and you got plenty still in you, your cool so go get your groove on. The song says you could go this way or you could do that, showing there is choice in where you go.

Mise En Scene
-Clothes and make up
The only clothing seen through out the video is a brown suit with a white shirt and a red tie.
-Location
The location was some high class hotel that was empty.
-Props
There was a lots of plants seen through out the video in the background. At the beginning there were some rather large curtains above the man and there was chairs with a little table inbetween. There was also a trolly of towels with a radio on top. The man tapped a little bell thats seen on desks before ridding a luggage cart. He even danced up and down some escalators, which if you ask me is bloody dangerous. Many chairs and tables is seen in the video as well as a few lamps. Before he danced on the table he kicks some magazines or newpapers of it. There was a portrait of a man, probably him in the long corridor of mirrors. A few small bins were out side the elevators.
-Lighting
There was alot of lighting in background in the beginning. The rest of the lighting came from mostly lamps and the room lighting and sometimes shiny objects that reflected the light.
-Actor movements/ expressions
The character totally expressed his feelings and had a big smile on his face at times. His movements went with the music and his dancing seemed like some fancy jazz type thing.

Camera shots/ types/ movements
There was a number of shots including long shots, low shots, moving camera, really long shot, medium close ups and shots when the camera was still.

Treatment
Its a music video about an average guy who is trying to juggle his job and family, but usually focuses on one and not much on the other. We will be conveying his last few days on earth before he kills himself due to getting a divorce and struggling in life it self. The reason for the divorce is that he spends a lot of time at work since a promotion and stays there till late hours to impress his boss which makes him miss dinner and quality family time. But thats not the only issue despite the fact he spends more time at work he still gets late due to lack of sleep and gets shouted at every day. This guy is the type who's wife is unhappy with him and has to sleep on the couch all most every night and go through today again tomorrow and the only way he can find an escape is to take his own life away. The song we will be using will be i'm no superman by Lazlo Bane.
Risk assessments
The risks of recording some of the scenes at a house is that people or obstacles might get in the way when recording, such as steps, shoes, people and cars. A risk of recording at school might be tables and chairs might get in the way and also others recording their videos may disturb us. On the roof problems are death, trip, fall.

Review of other groups presentations

we will be reviewing the other groups and be asking questions about their presentation, we will also give feedback to the presenting group.
Second group
Sabina, Shuma and Warda
the presentation was quite wordy and their story board wasn't very clear, so we couldn't really understand what the story line was.
they didn't talk about their props and location.

Third group
Kaseem, Syranpreet, Daniel, Jasreet
their pre-production presentation was well set out and everything was clear, but i think they should've made their storyboard on the pc instead of on paper.

BTEC media homework

This is the evaluation of the music video, which the media group from last year made.
There is no narrative in this music video, as there is no story behind it, because they are just rapping in different parts of town. This video has abit of performance in it.
mise en scene - clothing - they are pretty much wearing the same clothing as the ones in the actual Eminem video such as, track suits, hoodies, trainers and the pair of head phones around their necks.
Lighting - They are using the natural lights, and making use of the street lights.
Props - there are no props used in this video.
Location - city centre, cathedral, subways and swanswell park.
Actor movements and expressions - the expressions of the students in this video are actually very serious, but there movements occur when they are rapping, as they are just moving their hands around, their lip singing wasnt bad, but not all of it was in sync to the music.
